The CLA-2009 is
designed to allow individual rectangular components to be cut from a
stacked and laminated bar. The
machine is intended for lab and low volume production applications.
Cutting is by a descending razor blade. The ceramic is prevented from
lifting as the blade is retracted by a spring loaded stripper bar that
also serves as a precision guide for the blade.
Actuation and positioning are manual. The movement system is
designed to be fast and easy for the operator, and it has been found
that surprising productivity can be achieved.
