This free-standing machine was developed for the production of thin tape such as is used in the fabrication of electronic components. The slurry will be deposited onto a carrier film system. The anticipated tape thickness range is from 10 - 200 microns. This system is designed for use with aqueous slurries. Use of organic solvents is possible with the addition of optional explosion-proofing.

The design of the caster incorporates many advanced features. In particular the machine incorporates features that allow unusually thin tape to be cast. These features include a unique casting head design and a built in clean room with HEPA filter to assure defect free product. It is also highly compact compared to competing machines due to an advanced drying system design. This drying system (patent pending) also allows production of unusually thick films.
