A family of machines has been developed and delivered which implements a new method of creating multilayer ceramic product such as capacitors, IC packages or Multi Chip Modules. The method provides an enhanced means of stabilizing the delicate ceramic while it is being processed through conductor printing and registration stacking.

Included in the family of machines are the following:

  •   Screen Printer - Two sizes 12" and 15". Fully automatic with a special means of printing registration optimized for ceramic products.

  •   Print Drying Chamber - for prints as they are processed by the screen printer. This chamber protects the prints from contamination or physical damage during the drying process and incorporates a means for handling and transport of the prints between operations.

  •   Hydraulic Stacking and Lamination Machine - Aligns each conductor pattern properly relative to previously placed layers and effects the transfer of the ceramic and conductor into the multilayer structure in a highly controlled way.

  •   Cutting / Scoring Machine - cuts the product from the stacking operation into individual components using digital position readout and a special blade arrangement.

  •   Materials and Process Specifications - Any manufacturing operations which involves mechanized operations which are performed on materials involves compromises in the integration between the material characteristics and the machinery design. CLADAN makes sure that these factors are addressed in the design of its machines and provides development assistance to the customer as an integral part of the machinery development process.
